Embroidery kit for the bear in Furry Faces. We have created an embroidery kit for the actual embroidery of the bear , so that you don't have to buy a large skein of each color for the embroidery. We have found nice colors in the embroidery yarn Eco Vita Wool that can be used instead. Included in this kit are 6 colors of Eco Vita embroidery thread in wool, a piece of water-soluble non-woven fabric and the pattern in digital form. The pattern contains both the pattern for the bodysuit and for 3 embroideries. Info about the bodysuit can be found here. Enjoy!

Here are the color combinations in Eco vita versus what is written in the recipe:

Eco Vita 005 (black) = 1099

Eco Vita 001 (white) = 1012

Eco Vita 205 (brown) = 2335

Eco Vita 103 (dark brown x 2) = 2563

Eco Vita 301 (pink) = 3544

Is this your first time embroidering on knitwear?

Check out the video clips of the process on our Instagram account:@bytheknittingstories There is also a step by step picture guide on our website. Take your time to look through here before you start, it will be easier to get started.

About the embroidery: The motif is embroidered with only one type of stitch, the backstitch. Follow the drawings in the pattern. We first embroider the outline around the figures, then we fill in with colors inside (fill stitches). The fill stitches should be as dense as possible to avoid the background color shining through. They can be advantageously overlapped. It is nice to vary the length of these stitches. NB! The expression will be most beautiful if you let the stitches follow the curves of the figures. This is to bring the figure to life. Use lots of stitches, both small and large.

Equipment list of what you need in addition to embroidery skills:

Embroidery thread: We have chosen to use Eco Vita (DMC) wool thread for this collection. Eco Vita embroidery thread is dyed with natural ingredients such as walnut, rhubarb, indigo and juniper. The result is a beautiful and earthy color palette. The thread glides easily when you embroider, and it fills nicely.

NB! Remember that you must always be aware that not all wool qualities are friends. We test the yarn together with various other yarn types continuously and will update our list as we go. If you don't find your combination here, it is a good idea to test embroider a little on a sample patch and wash it so that you are sure that the combination works well in the wash.
