Traktor Finn is one of our bestsellers! Now we have created an embroidery kit for the actual embroidery on this one, so that you don't have to buy a large skein of each color in the embroidery. We have found some nice colors in the embroidery thread Eco Vita Wool that can be used instead. Included in this kit are 6 colors of Eco Vita embroidery thread in wool, a piece of water-soluble non-woven fabric and the pattern in digital form. Enjoy!

Here are the color combinations in Eco vita versus what is written in the recipe:

Eco Vita 205 (beige) = 2542

Eco Vita 106 (black) = 4071

Eco Vita 501 (red) = 4036

Eco Vita 708 (green) = 9553

Eco Vita 002 (gray) = 1042

Eco Vita 001 (white) = 2125

Is this your first time embroidering on knitwear?

Check out the video clips of the process on our Instagram account:@bytheknittingstories There is also a step by step picture guide on our website. Take your time to look through here before you start, it will be easier to get started.

About the embroidery: The motif is embroidered with only one type of stitch, the backstitch. Follow the drawings in the pattern. We first embroider the outline around the figures, then we fill in with colors inside (fill stitches). The fill stitches should be as dense as possible to avoid the background color shining through. They can be advantageously overlapped. It is nice to vary the length of these stitches. NB! The expression will be most beautiful if you let the stitches follow the curves of the figures. This is to bring the figure to life. Use lots of stitches, both small and large.

Equipment list of what you need in addition to embroidery skills:

Embroidery thread: We have chosen to use Eco Vita (DMC) wool thread for this collection. Eco Vita embroidery thread is dyed with natural ingredients such as walnut, rhubarb, indigo and juniper. The result is a beautiful and earthy color palette. The thread glides easily when you embroider, and it fills nicely.

NB! Remember that you must always be aware that not all wool qualities are friends. We test the yarn together with various other yarn types continuously and will update our list as we go. If you don't find your combination here, it is a good idea to test embroider a little on a sample patch and wash it so that you are sure that the combination works well in the wash.
