Traktor Finn is a tough and playful sweater that is just as nice for girls as it is for boys. It is lightly knitted and is knitted from the bottom up. The body is knitted in stocking stitch while the sleeves have a nice garter stitch pattern. The sweater is knitted in Smart which contains 100% wool.

About the embroidery:

The embroidery of Traktor Finn is easy to embroider and it is just as beautiful in solid color as in color.

Only one type of stitch is used, the backstitch. We first embroider the outline around the shapes, then we fill in the inside with colors (fill stitch).

The fill stitches should be as close as possible to avoid the background color showing through. They can be overlapped to your advantage.

It's nice to vary the length of these stitches.

NB! The look will be most beautiful if you let the stitches follow the curves of the shapes.

Sizes:

Sizes: 1 (2) 4 (6) 8 (10) years

Overall width: 62 (65) 69 (73) 76 (80) cm

Total length: 34 (36) 38 (43) 47 (52) cm

The measurements given are not body measurements but measurements of the finished knitted sweater if the correct knitting tension is followed. The sizes are indicative.

Guiding pins:

Circular needle size 3 and 3 ½

Double pointed needles size 3 and 3 ½

Knitting strength:

22 stitches x 30 rows stocking stitch on needle size 3 1/2 = 10 x 10 cm

Yarn for sweater:

Smart, Sandnes Yarn

Smart is made of 100% wool and is a soft and comfortable quality that holds up very well through washing and use.

Blue sweater:

7252 Sea green melange

250 (250) 300 (350) 400 (450) grams

Beige sweater:

2641 Natural melange

250 (250) 300 (350) 400 (450) grams

There are many yarn alternatives for this knitting tension. If you choose a different yarn, it is important that you check the running length so that you have enough yarn.

Yarn for embroidery:

Here you can use Eco Vita yarn instead of buying large balls of Smart as mentioned in the pattern.

Blue sweater:

4036 Burnt Terracotta = Eco Vita 501

4071 Dark Brown = Eco Vita 106

2542 Camel = Eco Vita 002

9553 Olive Green = Eco Vita 705

2125 Sandshell = Eco Vita 001

1042 Grey melange = Eco Vita 609

Beige sweater:

4071 Dark Brown = Eco Vita 103

It is up to you whether you want to buy the embroidery thread we have used, or whether you want to use leftover yarn that you already have. NB! Remember that if you use leftover yarn, you must be sure that the yarn you embroider with is made of the same material as the yarn you knit the vest with. We therefore recommend embroidering a little on a sample patch and test washing it, if you are unsure about the yarn choice. Different quality of yarn can cause the garment to be damaged in the wash.

Other accessories:

Sewing ring with diameter approx. 15 cm

Water-soluble non-woven fabric approx. 20 x 20 cm
