Hello Sunshine is a lovely and warm sweater for cold evenings. Inspired by sun, beach and sea. The sweater is knitted from the top down with a thread of Peruvian together with a thread of Tilia. After the neck is knitted, reverse rows (German Short Rows/GSR) are used to create the neckline at the same time as increasing for raglan. The length of the sweater is up to you, measure along the way so that you get the desired length. Pattern is available in English!


Yarn: Peruvian and Tilia from Filcolana.

Knitting tension: 17 stitches x 23 rows stockinette stitch 5 ½ mm = 10 cm

Recommended needles: Circular needles: 5 and 5 ½ mm (40 and 80/100 cm), Knitting needles: 5 and 5 ½ mm

Overall width: 94 (101) 108 (115 ) 122 cm

The measurements given are not body measurements but measurements of the finished knitted sweater if the correct knitting tension is observed. The sizes are indicative. The sweater has good range of motion. Sleeve length applies from the sleeve opening on the body (which goes slightly down the shoulder) and down to the lower part of the wrist.


Yarn amount:

Peruvian: 101 Natural White: 7 ( 8) 8 ( 10) 11 skeins

One skein of Peruvian (in all sizes) of each of the following:

  • 254 Coral
  • 215 Carrot
  • 284 Kumquat
  • 368 Eucalyptus

Tilia : 101 Natural White: 3 ( 3) 4 ( 5) 5 skeins

A skein of Tilia (in all sizes) of each of the following:

  • 365 Calendula
  • 281 Rime Frost

Embroidery thread:

A skein or a small remnant of each of these two colors:

  • 196 French Vanilla, Peruvian
  • 364 Chai, Peruvian

In addition, some of the colors above are used (which the sweater is knitted with).

Other accessories:

  • Sewing ring with a diameter of at least 20 cm
  • Water-soluble non-woven fabric of minimum 25 x 25 cm
  • Pointed needle
