Cloud Cardigan - Pattern

The Cloud cardigan is knitted back and forth, top down. The yokes are knitted at the same time as the rest of the jacket to avoid assembly at the end. The jacket has long ribbed cuffs on the sleeves that accentuate the wide sleeves. It is easy to adjust the length of the body and sleeves to the desired length.

The basic pattern is almost the same as our Lemonade and Love is love jackets. The difference is that we have knitted twisted knit and purl stitches on the ribs on this one and that it does not include any embroidery on this one.

Yarn:

The entire jacket is knitted with two threads together, one Arwetta and one Tilia from Filcolana.

Alternative yarn: Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Garn

Knitting strength:

22 stitches on needle size 4 = 10 cm

Guiding pins:

Circular needle size 4 mm (40 cm and 80/100 cm)

Double pointed needles no. 4

If you cast on with Italian bind off, we recommend that you cast on with needle number 3 but switch to needle 4 on the first round.

Overall width: 100 cm (110 cm) 120 cm (131 cm)

Overall length: 51 cm (55 cm) 57 cm (59 cm)

The measurements given are not body measurements but measurements of the finished knitted sweater if the correct knitting tension is observed. The sizes are indicative. The sweater has good range of motion. Sleeve length applies from the sleeve opening on the body (which goes slightly down the shoulder) and down to the lower part of the wrist.

Arwetta 5 (6) 7 (8) skeins

Tilia 5 (6) 7 (8) skeins

If you knit other lengths or use different yarn than what is stated in the pattern, you must make sure you have the correct amount of yarn (check the running length).

A little tip/help:

There are a lot of stitches and a lot of counting on the yoke. If you get a stitch or two wrong, you can change it on the next round. It won't affect the final result. That way you don't have to count over and over again :) The most important thing is that you have the right number when you start dividing for the body and sleeves.
