Embroidery Pattern of the Unicorn Rainbow Rosie

Embroidery pattern for the popular Rainbow Rosie unicorn (digital pattern).

About the embroidery: The motif is stitched using only one type of stitch, the backstitch. Follow the diagrams in the pattern. First, we embroider the outlines of the figures, then we fill in the colors inside (satin filling stitches). The filling stitches should be as dense as possible to prevent the background color from showing through. They may overlap each other. It is good to vary the length of these stitches. NOTE! The result looks best when you let the stitches follow the curves of the shapes.

Embroidery thread:
Eco Vita Wool: 202, 201, 203, 403, 305, 001, 103, 704, 301
One skein of each color.

It is up to you whether you want to use the embroidery thread we have used, or leftover yarn you already have. Note! If you use leftover yarn, you must make sure it is made from the same material as the yarn used in the garment you are embroidering on. We therefore recommend testing on a swatch and washing it if you are unsure about your yarn choice. Different fiber qualities can cause the garment to be damaged in washing.

• A sharp needle
• A grey pencil
• An embroidery hoop with a diameter of at least 15 cm 
• Eco Vita embroidery thread (see pattern for colours)
• Water-soluble interfacing
