Digital embroidery pattern of the ballerina Beatrice dancing in a parade and waving a flag. This is a very fun figure to embroider! Beatrice is a ballerina that works beautifully on a sweater, a dress, a bag, or a cushion. For the eye and mouth, you can split the thread in two and use small stitches. Enjoy!
Is this your first time embroidering on knitwear? Take a look at the short video clips of the process on our Instagram account: @bytheknittingstories. There is also a step-by-step photo guide on our website. Take your time to go through it before you start – it will make it easier to get going.
About the embroidery: The motif is stitched using only one type of stitch, the backstitch. Follow the diagrams in the pattern. First, we embroider the outlines of the figures, then we fill in the colors inside (satin filling stitches). The filling stitches should be as dense as possible to prevent the background color from showing through. They may overlap each other. It is good to vary the length of these stitches. NOTE! The result looks best when you let the stitches follow the curves of the shapes – this brings the figures to life. Use many stitches, both small and large.
